Field Shawl

Job type Test knit
Description

I grew up in farm country, and I always enjoyed watching the fields as we drove by. I was mesmerized by the patterns made in the rows of the different crops. The Field Shawl is inspired by those patterns and is an ode to the role agriculture has played in my life throughout the years.

This triangular shawl is worked from tip-to-tip; by casting on just a few stitches at one corner, increasing to the mid-point, and then decreasing to the opposite corner. The construction allows you to get the most out of your yarn and makes sizing adjustments easier. The simple shaping and straightforward stitch patterns make this shawl a great design to learn brioche and linen stitch basics. Tassels can be attached for an additional flourish.

The combination of two-color linen stitch and two-color brioche plant the seeds for some fun color combinations. Pick one main color and two contrasting colors as I did, add in a fourth color to give the two stitch sections different looks, or keep it simple with just two colors throughout. Your choice will make the shawl as unique as the fields that gave the design its name.

Simply fill out this form to recive the coupon code https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScmVnw16U4-3KnYWpjBM5Ksh07GW0QMYifdfbX1COAsz4TMhA/viewform

Communication: Above all else, I require good communication from my testers. As soon as you have a question, a problem with the pattern, a suggestion for improvement, or worry you won't meet the deadline, I need to know so we can find a solution together. I also want to hear about your progress on a regular basis via DM or Group Chat (at least once a week) so I know you are on target for the deadline. Make sure to mark your milestones and post about your progress in the chat. If I don't hear from you I can only assume the test isn't being worked on.

Social Media: I am looking for testers that will help promote my design on social media by posting about your progress, experience,  and your finished object. I am @just_1_more_thing on Instagram and TikTok. You can also tag me on Facebook as @Just1MoreThing. Please use the hashtag #just1morething and #FieldShawl in your posts.

Good Notes: I am very flexible about the yarn you use and the size you make, I just ask that you let me know about the modifications you plan to make ahead of time. Please keep notes about your yarn choice, your needle size, gauge, the yardage used, and any modifications so you can include them on your Ravelry project page.

Ravelry Project Page: All projects must have a Ravelry Project Page. If you are unable to access Ravelry please let me know and I will send you a google form to fill in your information and I will set up a pattern page on your behalf. In the Pattern Name field please enter the code TEST-JK-NMETYJ so your project will be automatically linked to the pattern once it's published.

Photography: I require at least one well lit photo of your finished object. You can model it yourself, use a family member, friend, pet, or other prop, so long as it shows the shawl at it's best. Please be aware that I use the photos posted throughout the test to my social media to help promote the pattern.
