Chayka

Job type Test knit
Description

The Chayka shawl, the first in the Chekhov Collection by Kino Knits, is reminiscent of a seagull’s wing and is perfect for using up that special, luxurious skein. Knit from one corner to the opposite edge, it features show-stopper lace paired with plain stockinette. Easily adaptable to any yardage – just knit until a few grams of yarn are left, then finish with a few simple garter rows!

Requirements from the maker

I am looking for 6 testers total - 3 to follow primarily the written instructions, and 3 to follow primarily the charts. Please specify which you will do in your test application. Please also include information about your intended test yarn. Because this pattern includes detailed lace, please choose a yarn where the details will show up. I expect this will be a solid or semi-solid yarn.

Please check in here at least once per week and let me know how you’re doing, even if you have little/no progress.

While testing, you are allowed to post teaser photos on social media. When posting, you must specify that it is an upcoming pattern from @kinoknits and use the hashtags #chaykashawl, #kinoknitschekhovcollection, and #kinoknits. You may post the finished object in its entirety within Ravelry for KALs if needed, but please specify that it is the upcoming Chayka shawl pattern from Kino Knits.

Once you have completed the test, you will be required to fill out a survey. Please note: You will need to report your yardage used – this is VERY important. I recommend you weigh your yarn both before and after you knit the shawl – I’ve found that “100 g” skeins often… aren’t.

You will also be required to create a project page in Ravelry with these details:

  • link to pattern (use code TEST-KK-6B2HMM in the pattern field in Ravelry - it will link your project to the pattern page once it's published)
  • needle size
  • yarn used and precise yardage
  • at least one photo: picture quality is important and should be taken in natural light
Rewards from the designer

Knitters who finish the test and complete the survey by the due date (April 15) and properly document and link the project in Ravelry will be given the finished pattern once it goes live, as well as their choice of any other individual Kino Knits published pattern.
