Description

A large and puffy ottoman with a four-color gradient.

What you need:

Fabric to make an insert 85x51 inches (a queen size flat sheet works wonderfully and will make 2 inserts)

Filling (I used bean bag filler, but you can use fabric scraps, old t-shirts, polyfill, etc.)

String (to tie your insert closed - you can also use sew on Velcro strips)

Size US N (9.0 mm) crochet hook

Approximately 1420 yards of Worsted Weight yarn held double.

SIZE: 26 inches in Diameter, 16.5 inches in height.

MATERIALS: 4 skeins (7 oz/199 g, 355 yds/325 m each) I Love This Yarn. Shown in colorways: A - Light Gray, B - Graymist, C - Greybeard, D - Graphite.

HOOK: US Size N (9.00 mm).

OTHER TOOLS AND SUPPLIES: Tapestry needle for weaving in ends, sewing machine, fabric panel at least 85 x 51 inches in size (a Queen size flat sheet works well and will make two insert bags), Bean Bag Filler Pellets/Beans (other stuffing such as cotton fabric scraps, old t-shirts, polyfill, etc. can be used), String (to tie the insert bag closed), Sew on Velcro strip (optional).

GAUGE: 12 dc / 4 inches and 6 rows / 4 inches

ABBREVIATIONS: Beg: Beginning, Ch: Chain, Dc: Double Crochet, Dc2tog: Double Crochet Two Together (Decrease Stitch), Ea: Each, Prev: Previous, Rep: Repeat, Rnd: Round, RS: Right Side, Sc: Single Crochet, Sc(flo): Single Crochet Front Loop Only, Sl St: Slip Stitch, St(s): Stitch(es), WS: Wrong Side.

 

PATTERN NOTES:

  • •Ottoman is worked in the round. (DO NOT turn after each round, keep working with RS facing toward you)
  • •Yarn is held double. I used both ends of the skein when working the sample. Colors are changed as you run out of each shade. For the sample, new colors were joined at Rows 26, 37, and 44.
  • •Gauge is not crucial but will affect the size and yardage amount used.
  • •Pattern includes a schematic for sewing inner bag and instructions for making the i-cord.
