Job type | Test knit |
Description | Angelica is one of my favorite garden plants. Its soft, frothy petals are the inspiration for this cardigan. A provisional cast on is used for the body of the cardigan. The cardigan is knit in-the-round from the bottom to the arm openings. Front and back are then knit separately and seamed at the shoulders. Once the main body is worked, the peplum is worked from the waist down. The sleeves are worked flat and seamed into the arm openings. Lace trim finishes the neckline and cuffs. The sample shown, in size medium, is worked with “Angel Sport”, a soft, slightly hazy blend of US raised merino and alpaca, available from sweetmeadowknits.com. Other good options are fingering weight yarns in tonal or solid colorways, like the now-discontinued Fibre Co's Canopy Fingering (on sale, btw at sweetmeadowknits.com). |
