Angelica Lace Cardigan

Job type Test knit
Description

Angelica is one of my favorite garden plants. Its soft, frothy petals are the inspiration for this cardigan. A provisional cast on is used for the body of the cardigan. The cardigan is knit in-the-round from the bottom to the arm openings. Front and back are then knit separately and seamed at the shoulders. Once the main body is worked, the peplum is worked from the waist down. The sleeves are worked flat and seamed into the arm openings. Lace trim finishes the neckline and cuffs.

The sample shown, in size medium, is worked with “Angel Sport”, a soft, slightly hazy blend of US raised merino and alpaca, available from sweetmeadowknits.com. Other good options are fingering weight yarns in tonal or solid colorways, like the now-discontinued Fibre Co's Canopy Fingering (on sale, btw at sweetmeadowknits.com).

Requirements from the maker

  • progress reports - share pics of your project on the thread.
  • communicate whenever you’re unsure of how to proceed (or if you just feel like it), via chat or email.
  • I will check the chat at least every other day, usually in the morning (Denver Mountain Time).
  • joining the KAL zoom is optional - but a good place to get answers or impromptu demos.
  • A picture of your FO is required (modeled is best) to qualify for completion. Note, you (or I) can always crop the head if you prefer to remain anonymous.
  • errata: I will set up a google doc with most recent issues and updates at the top. Since the pattern has been tech-edited, there should (fingers crossed) be very few issues.  It's fine to use the chat, but the google doc will probably be more efficient for seeing what's been updated, etc.  There are other test-knitters on Ravelry also.

Rewards from the designer

The designer is offering discounted or free pattern(s) to testers

Once you've completed your test-knit, on or before the deadline, and have added a completed FO pic (or emailed me with one), you'll be eligible to receive both the final Angelica Lace Cardigan pattern and another of my patterns of your choice, in sized or personalized format. Note that I'm still in the process of creating more sized patterns, so if that's your preference, just let me know which one you'd like and I can bump it up in priority.
