I live in the Greater Boston, Massachusetts area and became a knitter as an adult when my son was young. I jumped into the deep end quickly thanks to a local yarn shop. Originally inspired by the intarsia sweaters, Christmas stockings, doll clothes, and toys my grandmothers made us many years ago, I was in awe to learn about the current landscape of the fiber arts community!
Knitting brought me so much pleasure and comfort, especially during 2020-2021. I am so grateful for the knitting and maker community and continue to explore, learn, and grow.
I published my first original pattern in 2021. My hope is that knitters will find my patterns accessible, wearable and fun to knit. I enjoy adding tips I’ve learned along my journey that can benefit new and experienced knitters.
After learning to spin and attending numerous fiber festivals, I choose to highlight more farm to skein yarn in my designs, either as recommended yarn or an alternative option. My values align with many small batch producers who offer breed specific, traceable fiber as well as larger producers who source wool ethically and sustainably. I am a member of my local fibershed and continue to learn and share about natural fibers.
In 2023, I started a vlog/podcast on YouTube called Knit Kind. It is meant to be a casual conversation, as if we are at a knitting group together sharing stories. Join us if you love fiber, encouraging others, and want more kindness in the world!
