My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was six. I have done it on and off ever since. Many people tried to teach me to knit, but it did not stick until I broke my toe, and my friend Earl took advantage of the situation. He parked me on the couch(there was a bottle of wine involved) and taught me to knit continental style. I was hooked.
I am sarcastic, and have been called opinionated and overbearing. I love cooking, knitting and have reluctantly learned to play chess since my son became passionate about it 7 years ago. I am suprised to find that I really like New Jersey. Growing up in Philly, I NEVER expected to grow up and become a Jersey Girl.
As a relatively new indie designer, I do a little happy dance every time I sell a pattern. It is the greatest feeling to know that I have created something that inspires others to knit. Thank you so much for your support. -deb
