Boskular is a colourwork yoke jumper, worked seamlessly from the top down. It features stranded knitting in two colours on the yoke, hem and cuffs. The neckband, hem and cuffs are worked in the contrast colour.

Skills required

Working in the round, knitting accurately to gauge, stranded colourwork, following a chart, basic increases and decreases.

Working from a Google Doc and adding comments within the pattern for any queries.

Required or recommended yarn Garthenor Organic Number 2/Pentland (these can be mixed and matched) – 20% discount available. Substitutions welcome.
Yardage MC: 612 (680, 748, 816, 918) [986, 1054, 1156, 1190, 1258] m / 669 (744, 818, 892, 1004) [1078, 1153, 1264, 1301, 1375] yd. CC: 306 (306, 340, 374, 408) [442, 476, 510, 544, 578] m / 335 (335, 372, 409, 446) [484, 521, 558, 595, 632] yd. You are likely to need more yarn if substituting or making any modifications to length.
Tools required

Needles 
3 mm / US 2.5 circular needle (or needle 2 sizes smaller than main needle)
3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle (or size required to obtain correct gauge)
Optional: 3.75 mm / US 5 circular needle (or size needed to obtain correct gauge for colourwork)

Notions: Stitch markers, locking stitch marker, scrap yarn or stitch holders, darning needle for sewing in ends.

Requirements from the maker
  • Swatch and ensure you knit the pattern precisely at the correct gauge.
  • Testers are welcome to modify the yoke depth, body length and sleeve length at the points specified in the pattern. 
  • Create a Ravelry project and add at least one modelled photo by the deadline.
  • For the deadline, I am happy for testers (especially for larger sizes) to finish the body and one sleeve to check the fit if this makes a difference to you managing the deadline.
