Block Party Cardi

Job type Test knit
Description

You are CARDIally invited to a block party! The Block Party Cardigan features a color-blocked motif with large argyle diamonds and set-in sleeves. The cardigan is knitted flat and in-pieces using intarsia for the colorwork and then seamed together. After seaming, a doubled-over collar and button-band is picked up and knit.

When you test, you will also be given coloring pages for this design! These coloring pages will help you decide your own personal color palette for the Block Party Cardi!

There are TWO sets of sizes, graded for men and women, and I include a detailed sizing guide for anyone that falls in between or unsure of which set of sizes they should knit from.

Requirements from the maker

As a tester there are three really important things I need from you:
1. I need any and all feedback. If there is a part of the pattern that you don’t understand, is unclear, or hard to read; PLEASE let me know. There will be so many other knitters that feel the exact same way as you so it is better that I hear it from one person than from lots of other people.

2. Yardage. The yarn estimates in the pattern are just that, estimates, please keep track of the yarn you use. The best way to do this is to weigh all the yarn for a certain color and then weigh what is left over. Subtract what remains from the total to get the amount used. Then take the yard/gram ratio (total yardage divided by the total weight of one skein) and multiply it by the amount used to get to yardage used in the project

3. Measurements. Please measure the finished product, after blocking, to ensure it came out as intended. Please also make sure it fits in a satisfactory way.

I would love to feature your FO in a tester gallery to be released as a separate document. The document will include the size you knit, the yarn you chose, and any customizations or notes you might have. Because of this I am fine with you knitting your test in any yarn and making any changes you see fit.

Please (PLEASE!!!) swatch before starting. My sample yarn is classified as a worsted but blocks up closer to an aran. That is because there is so much variation in A) how yarn weights are classified and B) how we each individiually knit. I recommend destashing in some capacity for this knit so try and play around with worsted/arans in your stash to see what you need to do to hit gauge.

It also helps me if you can post a project page on Ravelry. I understand that Ravelry is not accessible to everyone right now. If you are using Ravelry, please put the following code into the “Pattern Name” section. When I publish, your project will automatically be attached.

Rewards from the designer

The designer is offering discounted or free pattern(s) to testers

Testers can opt-in to the Tester Gallery document which will come with pattern purchases where their FO will be featured.

Testers will additionally receive a free pattern from my other released patterns,
