Cabled Boot Socks

Job type Test knit
Description

The Statement Socks are specifically designed to be beautiful heavy socks, perfect for cold winter weather or for participating in winter sports!

The socks are knit cuff down with a slipped-stitch heel flap and grafted toe. The cable instructions are both charted and written. The pattern comes in multiple adult sizesÍž and is further adjustable to your own foot for a proper fit!

The sample was knit with two skeins of a Worsted Weight Finn/Gotland/BFL blend from All Sorts Acre Farms. As this yarn is not readily commercially available,  I'd suggest a Worsted or Aran weight multi-ply wool, or a wool/nylon blend designed for heavy socks (sometimes labeled 'boot socks')

Please be aware, the left and right socks are identical,  so only one sock needs to be complete for the test-knitting!.

Also, if you need to test the large-print/screen reader accessible version of this pattern, simply send me a message here on Yarnpond with your e-mail address, and I will get that to you.

Requirements from the maker
  • You will use your own yarn, but get to keep the finished object. As well, you will get a final copy of the finished pattern for your own use.
  • You will not share or distribute the pattern PDF.
  • You will be able to complete the test by the deadline posted.
  • If circumstances come up and you cannot complete the test by the deadline posted, you will notify me as soon as possible.
  • You will post any errors or other issues you encounter with the pattern to the testing chat
  • If you are altering the pattern to your own preferences, please post to the chat thread, or message me here on YarnPond to confirm. I don’t usually mind alterations, but I do have to make sure that the elements of the pattern I need tested are being tested.
  • I would like to have feedback posted the chat once every two weeks, minimum, please. That feedback does not have to be elaborate, it can even be ‘I haven’t touched this since last time’.
  • Finished Projects should include a photograph. While I would prefer modeled photos (if applicable), this is not an absolute requirement. I may ask for your project photograph to be featured on social media, if I like it, but that is not a requirement of my testers.
  • Testers should fill out the feedback questions when they have completed their project.
  • You may create a project page on Ravelry at any time you wish (also not a requirement).
