Open Heart Pullover

Job type Test knit
Description

The design for Open Heart was inspired by Japanese lace stitch patterns, and their use of twisted stitches to create definied shapes. To keep it easier to work the lace, a circular yoke was chosen so that you can always work the pattern from the right side.

Open Heart is knit from the top down and in the round.  The collar is cast on first, then short rows are used to shape the neckline. The lace chart is then established and carries through to the underarm.  The yoke is divided into sleeve and front and back stitches, with the sleeve stitches put on hold.  Underarm stitches are cast on, and the body continues in the round in the lace pattern to the hem. The sleeves are then taken off of hold, and worked from the top down in the same lace chart as the bodice.

The chart features twisted stitches throughout, including twisted ssk's, twisted k2tog, and twisted cables along with yo's to create the stitch pattern.

(A DK version of this pullover, with a plain stocking stitch body, will be released for testing later this month.)

Requirements from the maker

I am looking for feedback on any area where the instructions may be unclear, sizing & fit feedback, and yardage used for your size. Preference will be given to testers who are on Ravelry.

  • Use the Chat function of the Test for questions and comments.
  • Create a project page on Ravelry linked to the test code. The code should be entered in your project's 'pattern name' field.
  • Finished photos of the project should be posted to your project page, and linked to the design on or before the test deadline.
  • Modelled photos aren't required, but are appreciated.  Photographs should show the item clearly.
  • Meet the project milestone dates, and send through feedback on the related section as you complete it.
  • If you are on Instagram or other social media, sharing progress photos before the deadline is fine, but please wait until the pattern is released before sharing finished photos.  Being on social media is NOT a requirement of this test.
Rewards from the designer

The designer is offering discounted or free pattern(s) to testers

Testers will receive a copy of the pattern in its final form when it is published.
