Zhuzi

Job type Test knit
Description

Zhuzi cardigan is worked top down flat. Back and front parts are first worked separately and then joined at the underarm. Back starts with the provisional cast-on for the back neckline, which is worked sideways in 1x1 ribbing; stitches are then picked up along the neckline edge and additional shoulders stitches are casted on to work the back. Front is worked picking up stitches from the back shoulders upper edge and from neckline live stitches. The front neckline is worked simultaneously with the front halves, and shaped with increases.

Body is straight (no waist shaping). The cardigan features set-in sleeves, worked in Stockinette stitch. Bottom and sleeves edges are finished with I-cord Bind-Off. A bell is added at the end in the same stitch as the neckline.

The graphic stitch pattern recalling bamboo leaves (Zhuzi means Bamboo in Chinese) used in Zhuzi enhances its modern and minimalist cut and emphasizes the feminine silhouette without renouncing to comfort and wearability.
