Job type | Test knit |
Description | Melrose is a DK weight, top-down, circular yoke with asymmetrical floral motifs. Looking for samples to be made in fall and winter color palettes (ie warm browns, reds, pinks, purples and cool blues, greys, creams, etc). Choose either 1 CC (easier) or 2 CCs (more advanced) at a time knitting with at least 3 colors used throughout yoke. You can also change the MC color during the colorwork section and add color blocks/stripes to the body (seen in pink MC sample). It has a scoop neck and higher neckline options. It is the sister pattern to sport weight Montrose! “Rosalina”, the matching child pattern will be released this winter. Kits available at the Fibre CO website: https://thefibreco.com/products/melrose-kit (Note: pink MC sample was the original prototype - the written pattern has the correct body/sleeve separation placement so all the motifs are properly centered/aligned) Yarn Ideas: A DK Suri MC would be really pretty with a CC with sheen (like from silk or acrylic) (see swatch on my project page) https://thefarmersdaughterfibers.com/products/oh-dang-dk-the-farmers-daughter-fibers (Ritual Dyes: Sylph or Qing Fiber: Butter Suri) https://berroco.com/yarns/berroco-comfort/ https://www.ravelry.com/projects/smaeve947/melrose
