Sky Dance

When my husband and I went to Alaska for our honeymoon, one of the things we were hoping to enjoy was the beautiful colors of the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. Unfortunately, we did not get to witness that amazing phenomenon, but I wanted to commemorate the joy of our honeymoon by creating a shawl that represented Alaska and its beauty. Sky Dance is my interpretation of the fleeting wonders of the night sky.

**IMPORTANT NOTE**:The test for this pattern does not require the entire shawl to be knitted. However, I need at least one pattern repeat completed of the written instructions and one pattern repeat completed of the chart instructions. The Kitchener bind off at the end of the pattern also needs to be tested, so if you would like to complete the entire shawl after testing the pattern, I would suggest inserting a life line so that the bind off may be taken out and you can continue knitting the shawl.

SIZE FOR COMPLETED TEST: 17” x 26” (43 cm x 66 cm)

SIZE FOR COMPLETED SHAWL: 17” x 92” (43 cm x 234 cm)

Intermediate: Perfect for knitters who would like to expand their skills and learn how to double knit. This pattern provides video tutorials, a chart and written instructions to help with professional finishing techniques. The design is simple, allowing the knitter to practice this new skill. Stitch markers may be used, if desired, to help with keeping correct count.

US size ​​3 (3.25 mm) 

US size 4 (3.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Tapestry needle for weaving in ends, stitch markers

* Complete at least one repeat of written instructions and one repeat of chart; complete Kitchener bind off (Note: Entire shawl does not need to be completed, but please work through the Kitchener to test bind off instructions.)

* Progress report at least once a week in this thread

* Report any and all errors in pattern (such as typos, errors in math, unclear instructions, etc.) as soon as possible

* Create a Ravelry project page with photos (Please include at least one photo of finished test)

* Use tester code TEST-DOS-5L37EF in pattern name “Sky Dance Test” when creating project on Ravelry

* Use @knittingknicely and @expressionfiberarts when tagging on social media
