Floating Sunset Cowl

Job type Test knit
Description

This lightweight, multi colour cowl is knit in the round using moss stitch and woven floats technique (similar to stranded colour work). Stitches are knit and purl. Chart reading is required. Full written chart instructions available. Instructions for the technique is included along with tips for fixing mistakes and working smoothly.

📍 There are two sizes. The photo shows the large size. The deadlines work out to about 15 rows per week.  📍

The unique woven effect plays with pattern, colours, light and texture. Like an impressionist painting, this 2-5 colour cowl subtly plays amongst the cloud tops and can be altered to your favourite seasonal colours.
I have basic instructions in the pattern and more detailed instructions available for free on the internet to help you with the technique. Plus, I am here to help if you have questions.

Choose 2-5 high contrast colours. MC makes the longer floats for the bright sky (yellow in the sample). CC makes the detail colour (I used dark purple, orange, pink and blue).

How about:

  • mid toned mauve detail on a peach/pink/apricot sky?
  • mid grey detail on a pale rainbow coloured sky?
  • charcoal detail on a fiery red/orange sky?

The sky is literally the limit.
