Belted Kingfisher Tie

Job type Test knit
Description

There is just something about Belted Kingfishers that I just love. These punk rock looking birds always look snazzy almost as wearing a tie. I decided to honor my love of this bird with this tie design. The patterning on the tie almost reminds me of their zig zagging flight pattern. I rarely get to take photos of these birds in flight since they are fast and are very aware of humans or predators nearby. So I will just have to capture their essence while knitting this tie pattern. There is also a matching pocket square instructions.

This tie is flat knitted bottom up. The i cord edging prevents the tie from curling too much after blocking. However, the slight curl of the tie after blocking gives it dimensionality when worn. A keeper loop can be knitted and sewn to the back to help secure the back blade or tie tail when worn.
