Thrive

Job type Test knit
Description

Thrive is a triangular shawl, worked from the bottom up starting with an I-cord tab. It uses a single skein of fingering weight yarn, but can be easily extended to include additional skeins to create a larger shawl.

The design was inspired by a quote from Elliot Page, a transgender actor, who wrote ”The more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive” when coming out. The thick cable along the center of the shawl is meant to represent self-love and self-acceptance, and the branching cables throughout are meant to represent the growth and prosperity that comes from that self-love. We must listen to the transgender, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming and give them space and safety to be their true selves. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this pattern will be donated to the Transgender Law Center.
