Requirements from the maker |
A good test knit depends on the agreement between designers and testers; here's what you can expect from me and what I am counting on from testers: You will receive a fully tech-edited pattern. The schematic is available for you to download at the link below for you to review before deciding on a size: https://www.jpknitsthings.com/herbalist I utilize the message boards baked into the Yarnpond platform and I am also available by email, or DM on the Yarnpond platform. I agree to respond to questions within 48 hours, absent an emergency or pre-communicated time away (I am usually much faster!). I will post any adjustments/errata that are surfaced during the test, in the event of substantial changes I will provide a fresh copy of the pattern to testers. Testers agree to complete their sweaters and provide a modeled photo and feedback by the test deadline. Modeled photos can be cropped to exclude the model's face if you like. I do not share photos without permission (although I often request permission because I love to share your work in my newsletter and on IG, and will link to your Ravelry/IG pages). Testers agree to create and block a swatch for both patterns. Testers agree to communicate throughout the test, including letting me know if something has come up that will prevent them from completing the test on time. Generally, I rely on testers to provide feedback about the accuracy and clarity of the instructions, the fit of the final garment, and the amount of yarn used in yards or meters. Tests will be considered finished once the 'feedback' form is complete. |
Rewards from the designer |
The designer is offering discounted or free pattern(s) to testers
Although a free pattern could never be considered adequate compensation for all the contributions testers make to my patterns, it is my way of saying thank you to testers. Testers who complete the test will receive a final copy of Herbalist as well as a copy of another self published pattern. |
