| Description | Kerleva is a cozy, folded turtleneck pullover with an architectural rib detail that wraps around the waist for a flattering cinching effect at the back. Knit from the top down, Kerleva keeps your attention with slipped rib and short rows - all made easy with tidy shaping tables included in the pattern. What's a shaping table? Frustrated by at the same time instructions? Shaping tables are the answer: charts with row-by-row instructions for sections with complex shaping. Each size has its own shaping table for the raglan increases, making it easy for you to know where to increase and how many stitches you should have on any given row. In addition, the tables are interactive PDFs that include checkboxes you can tick off on a computer or tablet as you knit. Construction Plan Kerleva is knit from the top down. After casting on, markers are placed for slipped rib lines at the center of the back and sleeves and for a slipped rib raglan detail. The neckline is shaped flat before casting on stitches at the center front to join in the round. The triangle motif on the back of the sweater begins partway through the yoke, and expands while finishing the raglan increases. Due to the difference in row gauge between the slipped rib and stockinette, short rows are worked intermittently into the triangle motif. After separating for body and sleeves, the body is knit around while continuing to expand the triangle motif. Neckline stitches are picked back up and knit around for the turtleneck. Finally, sleeve stitches are picked back up and decreased slowly until the cuff. |
